"All power in Socialist Czechoslovakia belongs to the working people"

Year Built:

1978

Artist(s):

Slavoj Nejdl

Location:

Hradčanská Metro Station

An astonishing piece of Communist propaganda left intact in the metro station of the Prague Castle. If the reliefs are relatively subtle in their evocation of socialism, the message as well as the coat-of-arms of Czechoslovakia are as bluntly Communist as ever. The five-point star standing attop the coat-of-arms is a mock-up and not part of the composition.

Forsaken
Modernity.
