Cosmonauts

The mosaic located in the lobby of the Haje metro station (then called 'Kosmonautů') depicts Czech cosmonaut Vladimír Remek alongside his Soviet counterpart Alexej Alexandrovič Gubarev. If Gubarev is forgotten today, Remek achieved posterity by being the first Czech to travel to space as part of the iconic Interkosmos program. More information on this spaceflight are available on the entry of the two cosmonauts' memorial statue, located just outside the station.
