Red Army Memorial

A highly symbolic picture showing three Russian-speaking men (possibly veterans) paying their respect to the Red Army Memorial on Defender of the Fatherland Day 2022. A few hours later, the Russian army would begin its ill-fated invasion of Ukraine. As a consequence, the Lithuanian authorities took the decision to dismantle the memorial and the six statues were taken down (not without controversy) in December 2022.
